Anglo-Saxon Workshop

We cover a huge amount about the Anglo-Saxons by handling weapons and equipment, handling real artefacts from the time and taking part in Anglo-Saxon activities like having a meeting called a Witan. The highlight of the day is where the children take part in battle formations and tactics!

As always, we will aim to provide a full day's worth of activities for up to 3 classes, because anything less, isn't really an 'Anglo-Saxon Day' for all involved, is it?

Workshop leaders: Leigh or Adam (Adam's workshop is different to the one described here).

'Leigh came to our school today to deliver the Anglo Saxon and Viking workshop. From start to end all the children were engaged. All the resources were excellent quality, including the ones we were given to lead. Leigh explained everything clearly and was amazing with the children. The day was summed up brilliantly when one child asked where Leigh was when they were taught Romans! Thank you for a fantastic day. We all loved every minute!' Catherine Thompson, Rose Hill Primary School, Stockport.
'The day was engaging, highly-interactive and used lots of child-led learning. It brought light to the Dark Age!' Simon Whiteley, Year 5 Teaching Assistant, Lawns Park Primary School, Leeds.
