Medieval Knights Workshop

Introduction: Our medieval knight will wow the children with his impressive weapons and armour whilst telling the children his story of living in medieval England.
Medieval Artefact Handling: The children will get to handle a range of replica items to find out what everyday people used in medieval England. Designing a coat of arms: The children will look at examples of real coat of arms and then use these as inspiration to design their own. They will do a rough design to begin with, and then produce their final design on parchment paper using a quill and ink! Medieval Games: The children will play replica board games from the time. These are always a big hit! The Crusades - A Brief History: Our medieval knight will talk to the children about the crusades. He will explain what they were, why they happened and what the result of them was. Our newest session for this workshop is The Black Death - a role-play where the children will become the actors in our storytelling of this most hideous plague!
