About Us
Historic Workshops travel to schools nationwide, to provide highly-engaging, hands-on learning that is second to none. Our 6 workshop leaders pride themselves in providing a professional service that aims to deliver each workshop to as many children as possible (unlike some other workshop providers, we also provide teacher-led sessions for the children to continue their hands-on learning whilst we are delivering a session - this is done by implementing a carousel of activities).
Most schools we visit re-book us for the following year, or for other workshops that we provide. Since our beginning in 2016, we have seen a huge rise in popularity year on year, which is a true testament to the quality and value of the workshops.
In July 2019, Adam, a current Primary Teacher and Historical Reenactor joined the team. He is available for the following workshops: Stone-Age, Anglo-Saxons, Vikings, Tudors and WW2.
In February 2020, we had another two additions to the team: Penny, an archaeologist, who delivers Maya and Victorian workshops and Chloe, a medieval reenactor, who delivers web-chats for us based on her medieval specialism.
In August 2021, Richard joined the team. Richard is a former primary teacher, and has a huge amount of experience working with primary-aged children over a number of decades. He delivers the following workshops: Roman, Anglo-Saxon, Viking, Medieval Knight, WW1 and WW2.
In January 2022, Caroline joined the team, having finished as a full-time teacher. She delivers the following workshops: Ancient Egyptian, Victorian and WW2.
In March 2022, Lucy joined the team. She delivers Stone-Age, Maya and Ancient Egyptian workshops.

"When we asked our Year 6 what has been their favourite day during their time at primary school, they said the WW2 workshop!"

The History of Historic Workshops |
Where we are now |
Historic Workshops was started in 2016, by Leigh, who was working part-time as a Primary School Teacher. It all started with just one workshop: WW2 Workshop. Feedback from the workshop was very positive, and soon, Roman Workshop was also born. After an unprecedented amount of bookings in the 2017-18 school year, Leigh finished teaching to run Historic Workshops full-time.

Historic Workshops has now delivered workshops to hundreds of schools nationwide! We have 6 workshop leaders: Leigh, Adam, Penny, Richard, Caroline and Lucy. We deliver 14 different workshops from the Stone-Age through to World War Two.
